New Year – New Mercies!

“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

Lamentations 3:22-23

For many of us, this passage is one of the most precious in Scripture.  We appreciate the fullness of God’s blessings and the fact that we can begin every day with new mercies from Him.

We know that we deserve God’s judgment for all the ways we bring Him pain, but we receive instead His love.

Every New Year, people around the world make resolutions that they may keep for a few weeks.  We all know that the gyms are packed this time of the year but not nearly as full by Easter!  We can count the privilege we have of serving a God Who keeps every promise.  He is just as faithful and merciful to us today as He was last year.  He will be just as faithful and merciful next year as He is today.  He is never affected by any virus, pandemic, or other unexpected surprise.

As we celebrate this new year of 2021, let’s be thankful that we serve a God Who does not need to make any New Year’s resolutions and will keep every promise He has made!

Special Chapel Speakers

Our high school students have been blessed to hear from men of God in our area who have spoken recently, including Bro. Ben Thomsen and Pastor Sam Mansfield.  Even as many programs change during this pandemic, LCA’s weekly chapel time for our secondary students continues on with a focus on the Word of God.

Pizza Orders

Pizza is served by the slice to our students each Wednesday.  Many families ordered their pizza for the first semester, which ends today.

If you would like to continue with (or add to) your pizza order, please contact Mrs. Kettlewood.  The cost for the second semester is $24/slice for cheese or $26/slice for pepperoni.

Winter Dress Code

Please remember that even in the coldest winter months, we ask that students wear dress code footwear at school, not boots.  (Kindergarten and elementary students should wear sneakers.)  Also, girls may not wear pants under their uniform jumpers or skirts, but leggings may be worn.  If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher or our school office.
