Our Loving God

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.  Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.”

Psalm 37:23-24

Our school’s theme verse for this year reminds us that God desires to “show Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him” (2 Chronicles 16:9).  The verses above deliver a similar message.

As we looked at earlier in the school year, many people seem to view God as someone who is looking to rain down judgment on people who mess up.  The picture of God in the Bible is of a God who searches out—and even delights in—those who do right.

The passage above goes even further, reminding us that God upholds us, giving us the strength and wisdom to be able to do right.

At LCA, it is our desire and mission to prepare young people to be able to be blessed by God, first by becoming His children through Jesus Christ, and second by falling deeply in love with Him, and third by demonstrating that love through our actions of service.

As we begin the coming weekend, let’s rejoice together in our great and loving God and commit ourselves again to faithful service.

Re-Enrollment Continues

A few weeks ago, our office sent home a packet of information about re-enrollment for the 2017-18 school year.  We hope that each family will prayerfully consider continuing to be a part of this ministry again in the coming year.  We will be happy to answer any questions you may have so that you can make the best decision for your family.

Remember that the special $45 discount for re-registering early ends on April 3!  Please remember that re-registration is not complete until payment is received.

Open House – An LCA Safari

Each year, we look forward to our open house activities.  This year, we have set An LCA Safari as our theme for the open house scheduled for this coming Thursday, March 9, at 7:00 PM.  (Please note the date change from the original school calendar.)

In conjunction with the open house, we will be presenting a History Fair with the work from students in Grades 1 through 12.

Please invite any friends you have who may be interested in the ministry of Latham Christian Academy for their own children.  We hope to have a full house with current students and prospective families!  See the half-sheet announcement on the back of this newsletter as well.

LCA Night at LBBC

Each of our school families is invited to a special evening at Latham Bible Baptist Church on Sunday, March 19, starting at 6:00 PM.  Our school will be officially awarded with our accreditation from our state association, the New York Association of Christian Schools.  NYACS executive director Rev. Tom Stiles will be speaking, and a nursery will be provided for children under age three.

If you do not have a regular church home on Sunday evenings, please come out for this special evening here in our church sanctuary where we will celebrate God’s work through the ministry of Christian education.  We know you will receive an encouragement and a blessing!

Busing Requests

If your family is planning to use public school busing services to LCA in the coming school year, you must notify your district’s transportation office no later than April 1.  This is a hard deadline and requests made after this date will likely not be honored by your district.

We have some districts’ request forms available in our school office.  Please see Mrs. Kettlewood with any questions.
