New Creature

“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

2 Corinthians 5:17

Our Savior has wonderfully remade each one who calls on His name for salvation!

Jesus Christ remakes us to live in righteousness.  Ephesians 4:24 teaches us that our new man is no longer bound to live the same way as those who do not know our Savior.  We may look at others in dismay when we see their evil habits, but we can truly rejoice that Jesus can free us from those powerful temptations.

As we work with students at LCA, we recognize their sinful natures in need of Jesus Christ’s salvation.  Until they make the decision to accept Christ for themselves, they are bound to those habits and proclivities than can destroy them.

However, once they accept the free gift of salvation by believing in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, we are equally confident in their ability to defeat temptation through the power of the Holy Spirit.  No student is guaranteed to fail!

We have victory and can share that victory with our children.  One of the great blessings of a Christian school lies in our freedom to teach children that they truly can be a new creature, free from the bondage of sin and evil.

Re-Enrollment Begins

Earlier this week, our office sent home a packet of information about re-enrollment for the 2017-18 school year.  Please let us know if you have not yet received that packet.

We hope that each family will prayerfully consider continuing to be a part of this ministry again in the coming year.  We will be happy to answer any questions you may have so that you can make the best decision for your family.

Winter Break

Please remember that LCA will be closed for our annual winter break on February 20-24, just over one week from now.  If you need another copy of our school calendar, you may request one at our school office or download it from our website.

Busing Requests

If your family is planning to use public school busing services to LCA in the coming school year, you must notify your district’s transportation office no later than April 1.  This is a hard deadline and requests made after this date will likely not be honored by your district.

We have some districts’ request forms available in our school office.  Please see Mrs. Kettlewood with any questions.

Candy Grams

Because of the snow day this week, our Candy Gram sale has been extended by one day.  All forms must be sent in to the office by Monday morning, February 13.  These “Candy-grams” are available to all of you who want to express your love and appreciation for someone special in your life!  They will be delivering your message and “4 chocolate kisses” to those special people for you on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.  If you prefer, you may purchase a beautiful, long-stemmed rose to surprise a special friend! (Maybe have your child order one for his/her teacher!!)

Prices:  Candy-gram                $ .50

Long-stemmed Rose     $2.00

Rose with candy-gram  $2.50

Open House

Each year, we look forward to our open house activities.  This year, we have set An LCA Safari as our theme for the open house scheduled for Thursday, March 9, at 7:00 PM.  (Please note the date change from the original school calendar.)

In conjunction with the open house, we will be presenting a History Fair with the work from students in Grades 1 through 12.  You should expect to receive more information on these projects in the next few weeks.

Please invite any friends you have who may be interested in the ministry of Latham Christian Academy for their own children.  We hope to have a full house with current students and prospective families!
