Praise for 2015

“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

1 Thessalonians 5:18

As we prepare to end one calendar year and begin another, we at LCA would like to take a few minutes to recognize how God has worked around us throughout 2015.

First, we recognize God’s provision of His Son. As a ministry, our primary focus is always on the person and ministry of Jesus Christ. Without Him, we would have no eternal security and no reason for life itself.

Second, we recognize God’s provision of our school families. Without you sending your children here, of course, we would have no one to minister to. We are grateful every day that you have entrusted your most special possessions to LCA, and we take that responsibility very seriously.

Third, we recognize God’s provision of Godly staff members. God has worked in an amazing way to provide professional, experienced, loving teachers and staff members who desire to work with our parents to see God’s best in the lives of our children. Our teachers average over fifteen years of Christian educational experience, most of it right here in our school.

Fourth, we recognize God’s provision for the daily needs of our school. In so many ways, we have seen remarkable development of our facilities and program throughout this year. Take a look at just some of what God has provided for our church and school in 2015:

  • New parking lot lights
  • New roof over one-third of building
  • New entrance sidewalk
  • New bus
  • About 15 new computers and monitors
  • New safety equipment in playground
  • New floor in K4A classroom

Most of these physical blessings came through donations and grants at no cost to our school families.

As we prepare to enter 2016, we are eager to see how God will continue to use the ministry of Latham Christian Academy as we remain yielded to His will and plan!

A Big Thank You

On behalf of our faculty and staff, we express our gratitude for the generous gift given at our Christmas programs and through our school office. Your generosity will be a special blessing to each one ministering to your children as we head into the Christmas holiday. We truly wish each of you a very merry and blessed Christmas!

School Closed – Christmas Break

School will be closed for Christmas break starting Wednesday, December 23, and will be closed through Monday, January 4. School will resume on Tuesday, January 5. During this time, our offices will also be closed.

We trust each of our families will be able to enjoy a refreshing time with family and friends over Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

Christmas Programs

Students in K4 put on a Thanksgiving program last month, but the other kindergarten and elementary students presented their Christmas programs over the past few weeks. We appreciate the work done by Mrs. Annie Kupeyan, Mrs. Ruth Kupeyan, Mrs. Parker, Mrs. Mansfield, and so many others on staff. We also appreciate the hard work of our students and the dedication of their parents in working on lines and having students in school regularly for rehearsal times.

Videos of all of our school presentations are available on Mr. Fry’s YouTube channel, MrFryLCA. Just search for that channel at We always appreciate the “thumbs ups” of our families!

Office 365 ProPlus Available

All LCA students automatically qualify for a subscription to Office 365 ProPlus through our licensing agreement with Microsoft. Students in Grades 7-12 may visit and login with their student email address and password (followed by the ! character) to download the latest version of Microsoft Office for PCs and Macs. You may also login the same way using the smartphone or tablet versions of Office.

If you would like to have a login and have a student below seventh grade, or if you have any questions about this program, please contact Mr. Fry at

Attendance Reminder

As we get into the more challenging weather and occasional sicknesses of the school year, please remember LCA’s attendance policies. Each tardy counts as one-third of an absence, whether excused or not. These absences are recorded and become a part of a student’s permanent record.

In addition, our school has policies regarding maximum number of absences for any reason and policies for requesting vacation days from school. If you have any questions about our policies, please refer to pages 34-37 of our Parent/Student Handbook.

Upcoming Days Off

Please keep an eye on your school calendar for days school will be closed after Christmas. We will be closed for the federal holiday on January 18. We will also be closed for Winter Break starting on Friday, February 12, through Monday, February 22. Please note that Winter Break is two days longer than usual this year.

As always, if you have any questions about our schedule, please feel free to contact our school office.

Alumni Notes

If you have contact with any of our school’s graduates, please help us get word out to them about this year’s alumni volleyball and basketball games scheduled for Saturday, January 9. In addition this year, we will be presenting a special alumni banquet on the evening of Friday, January 8.
